What is the difference between Nissan and Tohatsu outboards?

You may have noticed many similarities between Nissan and Tohatsu outboards. That is because Tohatsu is the maker of all Nissan outboards. They are identical with the exception of cowling decals. You pay a slightly higher premium for the Nissan branding. There is no difference in features, warranty, etc... Literally, the only difference is the decals on the cover.
